| Signing Saturday 2nd October |
[Sep. 23rd, 2010|04:23 pm] |
Hi,
spotted this when I was in Forbidden Planet in London yesterday;
Signing Brian Froud Saturday 2nd October 2, 1-2pm Faeries £16.99 at Forbidden Plant, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR Tel:020 7420 366 To order signed copies call Forbidden Plant Mail Order, 020 7803 1900
I checked with a member of staff and you can order signed copies from the mail order people. They'll just be straight signed, rather than personalised. I've also noticed that they keep some signed copies back to go on the shelves.

| | chipper | ] | Hi,
just reading through the Mouse Guard one shot for free comic book day when I came across an advert.
Apparently Archaia comics are going to be releasing two new comic series for The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth and Brian Froud will be providing covers, art direction and story concepts!
Release data is autumn 2010. So something to look out for! |

Going to Rencon this weekend. Hope to have Froud sign a load of books. Will anyone else be there? |

Another very recent discovery: Brian has collaborated with Robert Gould and his graphic designer Stephanie Lostimolo on a beautiful piece of cover art for Woodland's forthcoming album.

Once again, I've added this to the cover art gallery. I added Froud's work for QNTAL while I was at it. |

As you may remember, one of Froud's Tinkerbelle paintings graced the cover of R. J. Anderson's novel Knife. I'm pleased to announce that Froud has also provided the cover art for the sequel, Rebel.

This UK edition of the novel was just released earlier this month. I've added it to the cover art gallery and updated our master list of Froud book titles. |

I should have mentioned this ages ago, but please welcome niamh_sage as your new co-mod. 2009 was an especially hectic year for me, and what with graduation coming up in the spring, I don't expect life to slow down anytime soon! So niamh_sage has kindly offered to help keep things active here when I don't have time to post.
That's all for now. I hope you're all enjoying the new year! |

Dear lovelies,
I apologise for yet another stretch of silence, but there have been no recent Froud developments worth passing on lately. 2009 was a quiet year.
However, it has recently been announced that The Heart of Faerie Oracle will be released in March of 2010. A collaboration between Brian and Wendy, the book and oracle deck is a sequel to The Faeries' Oracle. Cover art:

I don't know about you, but I haven't heard anything about the status of The Power of the Dark Crystal in ages. To my utter surprise, Robot Chicken has responded to the affair:
All I have to say is OMG WHAT?!
Lastly, the Duirwaigh Gallery, which has displayed and sold the Frouds' art since 1997, is currently selling some Froud originals through their ebay site. If you have a few thousand lying around, you can buy an original doll/sculpture by Wendy, a drawing from The Goblins of Labyrinth</u>, or even the original Fairy of Dark Despair painting. I certainly don't have that kind of money lying around, but it was nice to browse the ebay listings and dream. Take a look for yourself. |

[Dec. 21st, 2009|10:57 am] |
Hello, friends. I hope everyone's enjoying the holiday season.
To help ease my seemingly perpetual state of student poverty, I'm putting two books from my collection up for sale.
( Photos and Info after the jump! )
EDIT: Both books have sold. Thank you! I may be selling more books at a later time, so if you're looking to add to your collection, keep checking. |
